Full-time · Remote, within 6 hours of CET

About AppSignal

We’re a small, thoughtful, and friendly team building tools developers love. We value clarity, focus, and steady progress.

AppSignal helps thousands of teams in 60+ countries monitor their web apps. We're a remote-first company with a team spanning seven countries, built on values like impact, transparency, and continuous improvement.

We’re looking for somebody within 2-6 hours of the CET time zone for this role.

About the role

AppSignal is looking for a Customer Education Manager to build our customer education program from the ground up. This is a foundational hire: you’ll be the first person dedicated to helping our customers discover, understand, and get full value from everything AppSignal can do.

You’ll own the strategy, content, infrastructure, and measurement of this program. This role reports to the Senior Director of Customer Experience and is highly visible.

What you'll do

•       Build the program: Design and launch our customer education program - defining the content strategy, learning paths, delivery channels, tooling (LMS, knowledge base, video, in-app guidance), and success metrics.

•       Create content: Lead the production of tutorials, how-to guides, video walkthroughs, webinars, and interactive courses that make AppSignal’s capabilities accessible to developers with varying levels of observability expertise.

•       Drive engagement: Develop distribution strategies to get the right content in front of customers at the right time - through email sequences, in-app prompts, community channels, and the customer success team.

•       Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with the Product team’s technical writer to stay ahead of releases, and with Marketing’s DevRel on content that serves both prospective and existing customers.

•       Close knowledge gaps: Partner with Customer Success and Technical Support to identify the most common misunderstandings, feature gaps in awareness, and churn-related themes - then build content that addresses them proactively.

•       Measure and iterate: Define and track engagement rates, completion rates, product adoption lift, support ticket deflection, and contribution to gross revenue retention.

What we're looking for

•       3–6 years of experience in customer education, product education, enablement, or instructional design in a B2B SaaS environment.

•       AI-forward mindset, with a bias toward using AI tools to accelerate content creation, streamline workflows, and support data-driven decision-making.

•       Experience with APM, observability, or developer tools is a strong plus.

•       Demonstrated experience building an education or training program.

•       Strong content creation skills across multiple formats: written guides, video, webinars, and interactive or self-paced courses.

•       Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Skilljar, Trainn, LearnWorlds, Thought Industries, Northpass) and content authoring tools.

•       Analytical mindset with experience using data to measure content performance and inform program decisions.

•       Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills - you’ll work with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Technical Support regularly.

•       Clear written communication and the ability to make technical concepts approachable for a developer audience.
